August 9-13, 2009 at the beautiful Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA
Thank you to Dr. Joe Threlkeld for the pictures!

The only complaints I heard were that it had been too long since the last retreat, that we should have had more time and space for the posters… and that people couldn’t believe that it was already over. By all accounts the retreat that took place at the Asilomar Conferences Grounds on the shores of the Pacific Ocean between August 9th and 13th was a great success. The speakers were all really engaging. The questions and the discussion that often ensued after a series of presentations or a poster session all seemed good indicators that everyone was enjoying themselves and found the experience very worthwhile. But you don’t have to take my word for it; here is a sample of the feedback that the Section received…
“Best part was having a wide range of presenters and attendees (from grad students to senior experts in their fields) and having people from outside PT”
“Great choice of speakers and topics”
“Excellent meeting, probably the best I have attended” -Scott Bickel
“Phenomenal selection of speakers, very well organized/planned” - Edee Field-Fote
“The program was diverse and all the speakers were excellent”
“As a clinician, I really enjoyed the discussion at the end about taking the research and translating it into practice” – Sara Francois
As I looked around the last day of the retreat I saw lots of people sharing one last conversation or taking one last walk around the grounds and, like me, were sad that it had already come to an end. At the end of the day all attendees who filled out a feedback form said that they would be happy to attend a similar type of retreat in the future. So, you ask when is the next retreat scheduled?
The Section is hoping to sponsor the next retreat in 2011. Stay tuned….
