Goal 1: Develop Mechanisms to Enhance Quality of Physical Therapy-related Research

Task: Promote grantsmanship among section members and APTA members

Responsible: SOR President in cooperation with APTA Division of Research

Target date for completion: ongoing

Current status: The APTA has compiled a list of experienced grant reviewers who will offer pre-review commentary to applicants

Goal 2: Promote Dissemination of Therapy-related Research

Task: Organize component Research Chairs meeting

Responsible: SOR Vice Chair to coordinate

Target date for completion: ongoing

Task: Evaluate print and electronic communication mechanisms

Responsible: SOR Secretary

Target date for completion: January 31, 2003

Goal 3: Encourage Increased Member Involvement in SOR

Task: Develop advisory committees of young investigators, of clinicians

Responsible: Membership Committee

Target date for completion: July 1, 2004

Goal 4: Increase SOR Membership

Tasks: Targeted recruitment of non-academic research institutions (VA, Shriners, grad students)
