APTA members now are eligible to receive 0.2 CEUs for each accepted submission to Hooked on Evidence, an expanding database on the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions. To receive CEUs, a member must locate a peer-reviewed article on the effectiveness of a physical therapy intervention that is not currently in the database and satisfactorily complete an online submission that summarizes aspects of evidence from the article.
APTA members have entered approximately 1,100 article extractions into the database since its debut in May 2002. Additional help is needed to ensure that all effectiveness studies are included in Hooked on Evidence. By contributing, a participant will enhance his or her knowledge of the evidence available for practice and will be sharing this information with colleagues. For more information on how to contribute to this important APTA initiative, and the requirements for CEU eligibility, visit the Hooked on Evidence Web site or contact David Scalzitti, PT, MS, OCS, APTA's associate director of research services.
Extraction Review Group
The assistance of many members of APTA's Section on Research in checking the accuracy of the extractions in Hooked on Evidence is greatly appreciated. A statement appears at the bottom of each extraction that has been checked for accuracy. The commitment of the following individuals in the ongoing checking of extracts is acknowledged. For information regarding participation in the Extraction Review Group please contact email@example.com.
