Marty Eastlack, PT, PhD, was honored with the APTA Lucy Blair Service Award during the Honors and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 28, as part of the 2018 NEXT Conference and Exposition in Orlando. The Lucy Blair Service Award honors physical therapist members or physical therapist life members whose contributions to APTA are of exceptional quality. Qualifying contributions can pertain to association components, through work on appointed or elected positions and/or in other capacities at the association and component levels.
Marty has been recognized by her peers as an exceptional leader, organizer and key influencer of the success of CSM programming. She has served as Section on Research Program Chair for the past 6 years and recently served as Chair of the APTA Section program chairs.
Congratulations, Marty, for this well-deserved and distinctive honor, and thank you for your tireless enduring service and leadership on behalf of the Section on Research!
University of Kentucky’s Kirby P. Mayer, PT, DPT, was recently awarded a $15,000 PODS II Scholarship for his research project entitled “Muscular Dysfunction and Functional Outcomes in Patients with Critical Illness.
