Shepard, PT, PhD, FAPTA in providing the groundwork that initiated and fostered an understanding and appreciationfor qualitative research in the physical therapy profession. This CSM session promotes the science of this less widely used form of research, offers a unique forum for presenting and discussing qualitative research, and fosters interaction among researchers and clinicians. The presenters are selected by the Qualitative and Mixed-Methods Research SIG from among the top abstract submissions to the Academy of Research in this topic area. The Marilyn Gossman Graduate Student Research Seminar: Future FacultyThe Marilyn Gossman Graduate Student Research Seminar recognizes the valued contributions of Dr. Marilyn Gossman, PT, PhD, FAPTA, who served as a mentor to many developing (as well as experienced) researchers – both individually and through her tremendous service and commitment to the Foundation for Physical Therapy. This CSM session provides a forum for post-professional graduate students to present results of scientific investigations and fosters collegial discussion among graduate students, physical therapy researchers, and clinicians. The platform presenters are selected by the Gossman Review Committee from among the top submissions based on quality and apparent rigor of the research from post-professional graduate students. Post-professional graduate students are those pursuing an advanced degree after completing their professional education (i.e., DPT or PTA); membership in the Academy of Research is expected.
